Cub Scout Day Camp
The week for the Chesapeake Bay Council’s day camp came to an exciting end yesterday. Mona did such a great job with keeping it fun – everything was so piratey, and the kids really loved it!
Isaac was in a group of really great boys from around the area. They had their ups and downs, but I think by the time Friday rolled around, they were about as chummy as boys can get. Being in a group of eight for a week has a lot to do with that, I think. It really gives the summer camp feel, being with the same boys every day.
The camp gave the boys a great start at completing their next badge achievements, awards, and belt loops. While we were there, the boys went to an archery range, completed wood projects (building bird houses and stools), went fishing, and learned about nature conservancy and Leave No Trace. It was also easy to fill some of our spare time with certain achievements, like section 11’s Bus Emergency and Fire Emergency, and 16’s stretching and exercising.
Camp was fun, and we are looking forward to it again next year!
